Following up a well established relationship with Caesars Interactive Entertainment, 888 Holdings has acquired the rights to provide live stream coverage of World Series of Poker (WSOP) Europe and WSOP Asia-Pacific tournaments.

The first broadcasts on 888PokerTV will be the WSOP Australia bracelet events being held starting next week at the Crown Casino and Entertainment Complex in Melbourne. The $50k High Roller event in particular is expected to draw a big audience.

888Poker will offer online satellites in coordination with its scheduled coverage of live events.

Caesars and 888 established their relationship in preparation for regulated online poker in the US. Both now have licenses under the new Nevada law and an 888 powered WSOP themed poker room is the likely outcome.

Caesars has also partnered with French site Barriere Poker. The “bad actor” clauses that may or may not survive into final state legislation could prevent 888 from being licensed in some states because of its previous US operations.

Barriere has never offered games in the US and would escape such restrictions. According to Donald A. Colvin, Caesars CFO; “...we’d anticipate that we might migrate off of the 888 platform and onto the Barriere platform in due time.”

Last month, 888 announced it will launch the All American Poker Network (AAPN) and new partner Treasure Island will be the first poker room on the new network.

888 has been the standout gaming stock on the London stock market over the last year. Its share price has tripled as it has bucked the market trend and expanded its customer base and profitability.
