The Microgaming Poker Network has rebranded itself as MPN and launched its own network website, thempn.eu.
The new name will not have a direct impact on players; rather the rebranding effort is more the conclusion of what Microgaming calls “a significant transformation” to its platform in the last two years.
As Lydia Melton, Head of Network Games at Microgaming explains: “Now that the framework is in place, we are more flexible, resilient and adaptable to any changes that this turbulent industry can throw our way.”
This development program includes a new poker lobby which is currently being rolled out; a fast-fold poker variant called Blaze; new Flash and HTML5 clients; and “True Value,” its rake allocation model that rewards skins that reactivate and acquire players.
Also touted in the press release today is the network management board, formed 15 months ago, giving many of the skins on the network a voice in network policy.
Microgaming has benefited from the demise of IGT/Entraction and acquired several new skins over the past few months including Betsson, iGame, 24HPoker, Pokerihuone and BetVictor. It is currently ranked 11th in terms of cash game traffic on PokerScout, the independent network traffic tracker.
