

- The Austrian Council of Ministers has decided to initiate a scheme which will block access to the websites of non-Austrian licensed online gambling sites.
- “An authorization from another EU/EEA Member State is not a concession to offer games of chance in Austria,” explained the Finance Ministry, flatly rejecting the validity of Maltese and other online gaming licenses.
- The Ministry believes that the Austrian position is justified by its attempts to combat gambling addiction.
