With a victory in a $215 buy-in tournament on Party Poker this past weekend, for $9500, professional online poker player Chris “moorman1” Moorman becomes the first poker player in history to claim over $10M in total online tournament winnings.
Moorman, according to his recently launched website, has a number of impressive accolades including being ranked the #1 online player in the world 18 different times. Most recently he earned the rank of #1 online player in the UK in September 2013.
In fact, online poker player tracking site PocketFives.com shows that Moorman is not only the first and only player with $10M in cashes, he is the only player with over $7M, making him far and away the most decorated online tournament player in the world.
“Thanks for all the support and kind messages along the way, it feels great to finally get there. The last $50k felt so hard. Now it’s time to get to work on the next 10 million tomorrow,” Moorman posted on the PocketFives.com forums.
Moorman has quite a ways to go to match the more than $19M won in cash games by Phil Ivey, and also trails Patrik Antonius who has registered over $11M in winnings at the tables according to highstakesdb.com
