After a more than two-year hiatus, the heads-up NL match between Tom “durrrr” Dwan and Daniel “jungleman12” Cates has returned to the virtual felts.

But the four-table, $200/$400NL battle was reignited only briefly Sunday, as the two halted play after less than an hour.

Cates tweeted: “well that was fast… but I think @TomDwan and I will get a good game soon.”

It stems from the $1 million Durrrr Challenge launched in January 2009. So far, Durrrr and Jungleman have played about 20,000 of the 50,000 hands required before the score is settled. If Dwan is up, Cates must pay an additional $500,000, but if Dwan loses, he has promised to pay Cates another $1.5 million.

Dwan and Cates started playing back in August 2010, but did not complete even half the battle before Black Friday shut down Full Tilt Poker in the US.

Since Full Tilt returned, Cates has prodded Dwan to return to the battle, “instead of playing everybody else at every game on @FullTiltPoker”

Last month, Cates tweeted that Dwawn was “not talking to me, I told him Im open to negotation. Im real pissed at how this has turned out, this will end in 2017 lol.”

He continued: “Regarding my recent tweets with @TomDwan , I tweeted because he has repeated avoided playing since 2011. Hes down and likely to lose 1.5m+..”

In the brief return of the challenge, it was a little unclear whether the two agreed on exactly how many hands they had played. According to the chat log, durrr counted 376 hands, while jungleman12 counted 493. They seemed to agree that Dwan was down a little more than $59,300.

Barring any further complications, the challenge should not take another 2 years to complete.

This is how the two parted ways Sunday:

durrrr: kk ill be around some of the next few days i think
durrrr: not tonight tho prolly
durrrr: cya
jungleman12: if you want, we can play sometime in next couple weeks
jungleman12: ok cya
