As part of the celebration of its one-year anniversary, partypoker New Jersey has announced significant changes to its weekly tournament schedule that will result in more than $200,000 per week in guaranteed prize pools.

Times have been tweaked, new tournaments added, and less popular games removed. The schedule applies to both partypoker and Borgata Poker, which share the same player pool and weekly tournament schedule.

New Tournaments

Two new major tournaments have been added to the weekly schedule.

The $1000 Guaranteed Super Bounty will run every day, and on Sundays this guarantee will be kicked up to $2000.

The $10.50 tournament gets started at 7pm every day, an hour after the highlight of each night—the 10k event which has now been moved to a 6pm slot. The $5k guaranteed turbo now gets underway at 8pm.

Sundays will also feature a new addition—the $1500 Sunday Slow Grind, a deep stack tournament that promises more chips and a great structure. It starts off midday with a $50 buyin.

Structural Changes

There has been some trimming of the daily schedule—which partypoker calls “eliminating some of the clutter.” In particular, there will be no scheduled tournaments during the quiet times of 2am and 9am.

While high volume players may not like the reduction, partypoker expects the remaining tournaments to have larger fields and bigger prize pools.

One tournament that is going nowhere is the biggest tournament in New Jersey online poker: the Weekly $50,000 Guaranteed where players battle every Sunday for a $10,000 first place prize.

Payout structures also have been modified which, according to partypoker’s press release, has been in response to player requests. All MTTs with a buy-in of $50 or more will now award bigger prizes to the top finishers by reducing the overall percentage of participants that cash in the events.

For MTTs with a buy-in of $20 or less, cash prizes will be more widely distributed to ensure more players cash in the events.
