The player strike against VIP scheme changes at PokerStars began today and is planned to continue through December 3.
Since the action was planned, a number of high profile players have announced that they will take part, including Danni “Ansky” Stern, Ben Slusky, JC “PrtyPsux” Alvarado, Peter “Apathy123” Jetten, Phil “MrSweets28” Galfond, Ola “Odd_Oddsen” Amundsgaard, and Justin “ZeeJustin” Bonomo.
The involvement of these players is not surprising since one of the elements of the PokerStars changes is to reduce VIP benefits from high stakes cash games.
However, the core complaint is that players who have worked hard to reach the annual Supernova Elite VIP status will be receiving significantly less financial benefit in 2016 than they expected when they set out to achieve the status at the beginning of this year.
