Coral Poker has completed its previously announced transition to the iPoker Network, with the platform switch going into effect this morning.
The move, part of a long-term transition involving several Gala Coral-owned brands, was the final move called for under the 10-year deal signed last July between Gala Coral and iPoker parent Playtech.
Coral Poker, one of the older poker rooms in existence, was previously part of the Ongame Network, which itself was sold by bwin.party to Amaya Gaming last month.
Coral’s switch to iPoker follows the previous moves of Gala Coral brands Gala Poker, Gala Casino and Gala Bingo to various Playtech platforms. Eurobet Poker shut down in late 2011.
Coral will honor player incentive points previously earned on Ongame, according to a statement on its site. According to Coral: “We have converted points on the old software for a cash equivalent amount. Download the new client now to collect your bonus. If you haven’t played with us for a while but had points available please contact us and we will be happy to convert them for a cash equivalent.”
Coral is also promoting several new capabilities now available as part of the switch, including easy interaction to and from its co-branded casino games. On the poker side, Coral is now touting larger tournament guarantees, “Quick Seat” selection capabilities, late tourney registration, and access to iPoker’s rapid-play “Speed Poker” tables.
The fast-fold tables concept, first introduced at Full Tilt, has become one of online poker’s fastest growing variants. The popular games may eventually become an area of patent litigation between Full Tilt owner PokerStars and competing networks who have also incorporated the concept.
