Emails have been sent to certain old Full Tilt Poker customers requesting account verification ahead of a November 6 relaunch.
The emails, that pokerfuse can confirm are legitimate, request that customers send in photo identification and address verification. Players are warned that action is required in order to have their account active and ready for when the site reopens.
So far only a small subset of players have been contacted; it is not clear whether emails are simply being sent out in batches, or if re-verification only applies to customers in specific locations or with a certain account status.
The text of the email suggests that the new Isle of Man regulations require a more stringent verification process than Full Tilt’s old regulator in Alderney.
Full Tilt Poker is committed to repaying non-US players within 90 days of its settlement with the US DOJ, so it is almost certain to have the online poker room ready for relaunch by November 6. There has been little information or details on what a resurrected Full Tilt will be like, but with less than eight weeks to go, we can expect more information to follow.
