Full Tilt Poker has become the first online poker site to switch to an all-guarantee tournament format, according to a press release issued by the site last Friday.
The revamping of Full Tilt’s tournament strategy takes effect Monday and will cover the entire range of FTP tourney offerings. A sample daily offering of tourneys which will now have guaranteed prize pools includes 28-30 “Rush” (fast-fold) poker tourneys, 15-20 multi-entry events, 10-15 re-buy tourneys, and 6-8 multi-chance events.
All of those are in addition to Full Tilt’s broad selection of one-time buy-in freezeouts, of which up to 225 are offered each day. Over the span of a single month, Full Tilt expects to guarantee more than $25 million in tournament prizes.
Full Tilt will also offer satellites to many of the above events, will guarantee at least one new tourney starting every ten minutes around the clock, and will be unveiling a new tournament lobby for the site.
