Illegal Substances Detected in Strassmann Autopsy

Police say poker player had prohibited drugs in his system.

  • An autopsy performed by Slovenian police concluded that poker player Johannes Strassmann had ingested some form of illegal substances shortly before his untimely death late last month at the age of 29.
  • An eyewitness that saw Strassmann in the bars the night he disappeared told Bild.de that the group Strassmann was with included “a notorious drug dealer” and that they had been eating a hallucinogenic drug commonly referred to as magic mushrooms.

First Two Locations Announced for WPT Alpha8 Season 2

London and Las Vegas will be first stops for second season of high stakes tournaments.

  • Two WPT Alpha8 Season 2 events have been scheduled for 2014, beginning with the kick-off event at London’s Palm Beach Casino in October followed by a subsequent stop at the Bellagio Las Vegas in December, which will coincide with the WPT Five Diamond World Poker Classic.
  • The London tournament will require a buy-in of £60,000 while the Bellagio WPT Alpha8 tournament is set to have an entry fee of $100,000.
