WSOP.com Nevada Undergoes Major Software Upgrade

Enhancements include new geolocation technology, increased withdrawal options and mobile app support.

  • Monday, August 4 will see WSOP Nevada go offline for eight hours to install a major update which includes geolocation technology from GeoComply.
  • The new geolocation functions won’t go live immediately—WSOP predicts an expected in service date of late August or early September.
  • There will be a new “cage” process that will allow players to withdraw funds at land-based locations.
  • The backend elements necessary to support mobile apps will also be implemented.

High Stakes Online Cash Report: The Return of Gus Hansen and Daniel Cates

A few weeks ago online poker’s highest stakes players were struggling to achieve six-figure profits for the week. Conversely, all top 10 winners this week managed to grind in six figure profits and one player even landed up with a 7 figure loss.

  • Trueteller topped the weekly charts with a win of $872,715 playing 31 sessions of Deuce to Seven Triple Draw.
  • Hansen managed to make $123,222 to bring that total down to $3,422,269 which is still the this year’s highest loss at the nosebleed online poker tables.
  • Probably the most notable loss of the week was that of Daniel “Jungleman12” Cates as he lost his foothold on the top earners position for 2014.

PokerStars All New Poker Client Inches Closer to Official Release

PokerStars 7 “integrated” beta now live on dot-EU, with dot-com expected this week.

  • The slow but steady rollout of PokerStars all new client continues with the launch of a public beta on its dot-EU client.
  • PokerStars.EU is the Malta-licensed online poker room used for poker customers in various European countries, including Germany, the Netherlands, and most of Scandinavia.
  • Players who choose to upgrade will get to experience the new software, perhaps the most substantial upgrade in the history of the online poker giant.

Full Tilt $50 Jackpots: Lottery SNGs with the Lowest Rake—and a $100,000 Top Prize

FTP is the first to expand lottery sit and gos to the midstakes buy-in—and continues to lead the industry in lower rakes.

  • Full Tilt Poker has introduced a $50 buy-in level for its Jackpot Sit and Gos—and with it, the lowest rake for the variant so far.
  • When Full Tilt first introduced the format, it spread $1, $2, $5 and $10 buyins only.
  • Big brother and online poker behemoth PokerStars is also getting into the lottery SNGs game—it launched the Spin & Go format in Spain last month, and it will go live on dot-com within the next few months.
