This week plenty of podcasters are focusing on the summer classic, but let’s start with the history. The Bernard Lee Poker Show celebrates the 10th anniversary of Chris Moneymaker winning the WSOP Main event and igniting the poker boom. Moneymaker sits down with Lee and tells the story of getting to and winning the historic Main Event in 2003.

Chris Moneymaker also visits with Andrew Feldman on ESPN: The Poker Edge where Chris reflects on what his life would have been like if he didn’t win the Main Event. Feldman also probes deep into a variety of topics and allows his audience to get to know another less-popular side of Moneymaker.
Feldman also interviews Eric Raskin about his epic piece When We Held Kings which presents the oral history of the 2003 World Series of Poker. Raskin talks about the interviews that made up the story and about parts of the article that didn’t make the final cut. One of the stories that didn’t make the final piece involved Lon McEachern.
It’s a great article and a very interesting interview. And if that wasn’t enough, Feldman also talks with the reigning world champ Greg Merson.

Lon’s broadcast partner Norman Chad is a guest this week on The Poker Show. As usual Norm is vastly entertaining and of course throws in an obligatory wife joke. If you are a fan of his wit, check him out. And you can also check out WSOP spokesperson Seth Palansky as he discusses the changes players can expect at the series this year.
For those of you attending the series, the guys at the Tournament Poker Edge Podcast give listeners tips on what events and structures to look for and which ones to avoid. They talk about all the series going on in Vegas so listeners can make good choices on where and what to play.
