Happy New Year to all the people out there in poker podcast land. It has been a great year for the both those that use the directory, and for the producers that provide the content. In the upcoming year we will continue to provide this great resource and have plans to add in some new shows.

The last week of the year has been a slow one, with only a handful of new shows added to the directory. While we certainly can’t complain about one slow week all year, we can recognize those that put in the extra effort to provide fresh content for their listeners to enjoy while ringing in the New Year.

One of the newer shows in the directory, The Chirp Herm Show, has released a new episode. Mark “Chirp” Herm welcomes poker pro Michael “Gags30” Gagliano. The two discuss play in the recent tournaments in Prague and Gagliano talks a bit about coaching and the concept of “being stuck in the rules of poker.” I found it to be an interesting discussion. Be sure to check it out.

Also, Druff announced that he is accepting new shows over at PFA. If you are interested in having your own poker podcast, Druff has an open invitation and he even notes that he doesn’t have “very stringent standards.”

The Mental Game of Poker has an interview that looks really interesting. Matt Affleck joins Jared Tendler in this week’s episode to discuss some of the issues he deals with while playing including “overconfidence, entitlement, injustice, revenge, and loss of motivation.”

Matt also talks about the big hand he lost to Jonathan Duhamel in the 2010 Main Event of the World Series of Poker. That pivotal hand became an instant classic and it will be interesting to hear Matt talk about the experience of dealing with the losing end of such a dramatic hand.
