  • Online qualifiers exclusive to Canadian players via GGPoker and GGPoker Ontario.
  • Buy-ins for satellites start at C$1, with daily freerolls available.
  • Festival features 18 gold ring events and aims for at least C$6 million in prizes.
  • Main Event offers a C$2,500 buy-in and a C$2.5 million guarantee.

GGPoker has launched online satellites for the popular WSOP Montreal Circuit festival, which is returning for the third time this year.

As always, these online qualifiers are exclusive to players in Canada, meaning only those within the country can access them. They are available on both the GGPoker global platform and GGPoker Ontario, the province’s locally licensed site. Buy-ins start from just C$1, and players can also earn their seats through daily freerolls.

Pokerfuse believes this remains one of the best opportunities to turn a small investment into a major payout. In the most recent August edition, at least three online qualifiers reached the Main Event final table, with one of them going on to win the title and a C$446k payday.

“We’re thrilled to be able to send a full contingent of GGPoker players to Playground for the upcoming WSOP-C Montreal Main Event,” said Sarne Lightman, Managing Director of GGPoker. “Our Canadian players love to play WSOP events in their own backyard, and GGPoker can’t wait to see our qualifiers take down some of the biggest prizes on offer!”

WSOP-C Montreal Online Satellites Overview

  • Running daily exclusively for Canadians
  • Available to both Ontario and the rest of Canada
  • Buy-ins start at C$1
  • Winning seat valued at C$2,500
  • Montreal Circuit takes place from Nov 3 — 18 at Playground

The WSOP-C Montreal festival will once again take place at Playground in Kahnawake, just outside Montreal, Quebec, from November 3 to 18.

This November’s stop follows a highly successful August edition, which drew more than 11,000 total entries and awarded over C$9.6 million in prizes. The Main Event alone generated nearly C$4.5 million, accounting for almost half of the total prize pool.

On the heels of that success, organizers have raised the bar, projecting at least C$6 million in total prizes, an increase from the C$5 million guarantee offered in August.

The newly released schedule features 18 gold ring events, with buy-ins ranging from C$400 to C$5,000. Each event awards a prestigious WSOP gold ring, and all ring winners will also receive a $5,000 package for the 2025 WSOP Paradise in the Bahamas.

The lineup includes several C$400 tournaments, multiple C$1,000 events, and a C$5,000 Mega Stack High Roller for players seeking higher stakes. While most tournaments are No Limit Hold’em, the schedule also includes a few Pot Limit Omaha events.

The Main Event once again carries a C$2,500 buy-in and a C$2.5 million guarantee. In August, it attracted 1,978 entries and generated a prize pool of C$4,450,500 (over $3.2 million USD). Hundreds of seats were claimed through GGPoker and GGPoker Ontario satellites.

Ontario’s Jacob Hobday ultimately took down the event, securing C$446,400 and his second WSOP Circuit gold ring. Impressively, Hobday had qualified via a C$75 satellite on GGPoker. His win also came with a $5,000 WSOP Paradise package, underscoring the value of these qualifiers.

WSOP-C Montreal Online Satellites Open Once Again

Now, players once again have the chance to follow in Hobday’s footsteps. Every day, one seat to the C$2,500 Main Event is being awarded, with two dozen players already qualifying, most of them via the Ontario platform.

GGPoker’s satellite system remains highly accessible, featuring buy-ins starting at C$1 on the global platform and C$3 on GGPoker Ontario. Players can climb through progressive qualifiers priced at C$10 and C$75, all leading to a Main Event seat. Adding to the appeal, GGPoker is also hosting daily freerolls, offering players a chance to qualify completely for free.

These satellites use the Target Stack format, meaning players advance by reaching a specific chip stack rather than surviving to the end of the tournament.

In addition, the WSOP-C Montreal stop will again make use of the new WSOP Plus app, designed to enhance the live experience through streamlined registration, player tracking, and real-time tournament updates.

The WSOP-C Montreal runs from November 3 to 18, with online satellites already underway and buy-ins starting from just C$1.
