For a long time, players in the US have had very limited options in terms of mixed games. This changed with the arrival of Clubs Poker, a fresh sweepstakes poker site that puts a lot of emphasis on mixed game poker, spreading ring games and tournaments featuring many variations like HORSE, Big O, PLO, PLO 5 & 6, and more.

Right now, the site is hosting its first-ever Championship Series, and, in addition to many Hold’em events, there is quite a selection of mixed game tournaments. This means that now, more than ever before, there is a need for poker training sites offering mixed game learning resources.

It’s no secret that training materials for these less popular variations are quite scarce, but if you’re determined to improve your skills, we have a few solid recommendations to get you where you want to be, so check them out.

Mixed Game Mastery at Upswing Poker

By far the most comprehensive poker course on this topic, Upswing’s Mixed Game Mastery was created by Jake Abdalla, a world-class player and coach. Inside, you’ll find quality learning content covering:

  • Stud
  • Razz
  • Stud 8
  • Omaha 8
  • 2-7 Triple Draw

The course features over 100 video lessons in total, and covers everything, from basic concepts for each variation to more advanced strategies that will help you dominate the tables.

Now, like most Upswing Poker courses, this one does come with a rather hefty price tag of $999. It may be a bit steep if you’re only looking to use the knowledge to play an occasional $1 tournament on Clubs, but if you have more serious intentions for mixed games, this is probably the best ready-made product the money can buy.

Run It Once Mixed Games Learning Path

While Run It Once doesn’t have a dedicated mixed games course, Elite members can still get a lot of knowledge through a specific learning path covering this rather wide topic.

Inside the learning path, you’ll find videos from a couple of coaches, George Danzer and Christopher George, talking about MTT and cash game strategies for:

  • 2-7 Triple Draw
  • 2-7 Single Draw
  • Razz
  • Stud
  • PLO8
  • 5 Card PLO
  • Limit Hold’em
  • 5 Card PLO8

There is a lot of quality content contained within these lessons. The only downside is that there isn’t a singular structure to guide you on your learning journey, so you’ll need to do a bit of work to figure out what’s the best way to consume the content.

The Elite Membership costs $199.99 a month, so it is a cheaper option than Upswing, and one month should be plenty of time to get through the content if you set your mind to it. Plus, you’ll also get access to other resources, including a community of players and coaches to further help you with your mixed games efforts.

Free Pokercoaching.com Content from Alex Livingston

Pokercoaching.com doesn’t have much mixed game training on offer right now. While they are likely to expand their training platform in this direction in the future, you won’t find any full-fledged courses or even mini-series dedicated to the topic.

The only content of this type is actually a free YouTube video from Alex Livingston available on PokerCoaching’s channel, entitled Crush the WSOP Like a PRO!

This particular video only covers Omaha 8 and brings a decent overview of starting hand selection and breakdowns of some actual tournament situations. It won’t give you all the knowledge you need to start crushing Omaha 8, but it contains some very solid tips, and it’s completely free, so you might as well check it out.

If you’re looking to up your mixed game skills, these are some of the best options available to you right now. That Clubs Poker Championship is running all the way through the month, so you have plenty of time to get on with the program and test your newly acquired skills against real opponents, playing from the comfort of your own home.
