Sweepstakes online poker platform ClubWPT Gold has introduced the popular Rabbit Hunt feature as part of its latest software update, which followed a scheduled round of server maintenance last night.

Rabbit Hunt, also known as rabbit hunting, allows players to reveal the remaining community cards after a hand ends without a showdown, showing what would have appeared on the board had the hand been played out.

The feature is now commonplace across most online poker rooms. However, there is a notable difference at ClubWPT Gold. Unlike many other platforms where the feature is offered free of charge, ClubWPT Gold has opted to make Rabbit Hunt a paid feature.

The cost to use Rabbit Hunt is displayed directly on the button and varies depending on the stakes being played. In one screenshot reviewed by pokerfuse, a pot totaling 11.5 Chips showed the Rabbit Hunt option priced at 0.5 Chips.

Not the First Paid Feature at ClubWPT Gold

This is not the first time ClubWPT Gold has attached a fee to features that are typically standard elsewhere. In March 2025, the site launched Time Bank, a common feature in online poker, but required players to pay a portion of their big blind to activate it, with fees starting at 20% of the big blind.

Later, in August 2025, the operator rolled out the “Reveal Hands” feature, which lets players view all hole cards at the table once a hand concludes. That feature also came with a small usage fee.

Rabbit Hunt now becomes the third such paid option on the platform. Based on available screenshots, its price point appears to be the lowest among the three features currently offered at a cost.

Players Not Happy

Charging players for features that are widely free elsewhere is unlikely to be well-received. That said, these tools remain entirely optional, and ClubWPT Gold has been transparent about its approach: if players want to use them, they must pay.

Some argue that monetizing such features reflects poorly on the site, fueling perceptions of unnecessary nickel-and-diming. Some might counter that operators are free to price their products as they see fit, particularly when usage is not mandatory and gameplay itself is unaffected.

Unsurprisingly, early reactions suggest that many players are unhappy with the decision. Social media responses indicate frustration, with some users arguing that Rabbit Hunt should be included at no additional cost for “Gold” members.

Growing Popularity of Rabbit Hunt

Rabbit Hunt itself continues to grow in popularity across online poker. The feature becomes available once all players have folded and a winner has been determined before the showdown. Players are given a brief window to click the rabbit icon, revealing the hypothetical community cards.

While many find it entertaining, the feature is not without its detractors. Some believe it slows down the pace of play, though many operators, including live tournament organizers, still embrace it as a harmless, optional addition. Recreational players, in particular, tend to enjoy Rabbit Hunt, as it satisfies curiosity about whether a fold was ultimately correct.

Within the sweepstakes poker space, Clubs Poker also supports Rabbit Hunt, as does Stake US. Across the global market, the feature is widely available at major operators such as GGPoker, PokerStars, 888poker, PartyPoker, WPT Global, Unibet on the iPoker network, and Winamax. WPT Global, the sister site of ClubWPT Gold, also charges players for its usage.

Alongside the Rabbit Hunt rollout, ClubWPT Gold also introduced an Auto Top-Up option for cash games and refreshed its table layouts as part of the same update.

The timing of these changes coincides with the operator’s one-year anniversary celebrations. Promotional activity includes a 100,000 Anniversary Freeroll held last night, a series of 100,000 Flash Freerolls running from January 29 through February 1, and a Chip Dumps promotion awarding 100,000 via random spins over the same period.
