There are constant developments in the world of poker training, with new platforms coming up, looking to add to the existing educational landscape and make things more accessible and/or more appealing to broader poker audiences.
Octopi Poker is one such relatively fresh site, offering a wide array of tools. It caters to hardcore grinders, semi-professionals, and casual fans of the game alike. While this approach may seem a bit too scattered to work, the team behind the site has actually done a pretty good job of it.
This is probably not the first time you’re seeing the name of the brand, as Octopi Poker was one of the sponsors for the 2025 World Series of Poker. In this article, we’ll explain what this platform is all about and how it differs from other products in the same niche.

Poker Solver at the Core
The main feature of Octopi Poker is its solver. By this point, you probably know what poker solvers are and how they work, at least in a broader sense. However, Octopi has tried to create its product so that it is user-friendly and easy to navigate.
Under ‘The Sims’ tab, you’ll find an interface that’s fairly easy to navigate, allowing you to set up scenarios such as the following:
- Players at the table (8-max, 6-max, and HU)
- Stack depth (from 10 to 100 big blinds)
- Preflop and postflop analysis
- Table position
- Chip EV or ICM
There is also the ‘Compare Ranges’ feature, which comes in very handy if you want to learn the preflop strategy. It allows you to select a particular spot and then have ranges for different positions at the table shown one next to the other. You can decide how many ranges you want to have on the screen. This feature is very helpful for understanding how ranges change as you move around the table.
Neat Hand Trainer
Octopi Poker’s hand trainer is a great tool for learning strategy for different spots by playing through actual hands. You can set up the type of ‘Drill’ you are interested in and play through as many hands as you like.
The Drill’s interface is quite elaborate, allowing you to customize your experience as needed. You can pick positions, stack depths, spots (RFI, facing a raise, vs. a 3-bet, etc.), and choose whether you only want to play preflop or the entire hand.
Once you set things up and start the Drill, every decision you make will be evaluated in real time. After you play through some hands, you’ll be able to see if there are certain spots where you’re making big mistakes (Blunders) or smaller EV errors.
Enter the Vault
One feature that really sets Octopi Poker apart from the rest is The Vault. It contains thousands of actual hands played by big-name pros during events like the World Series of Poker, PokerGO Tour, and more.
These hands are collected by the Octopi team, analyzed by their solvers, and then made available to all the members, alongside a video clip showing the footage of the hand.
With The Vault, you can put yourself in the shoes of a player like Daniel Negreanu or Alex Foxen and make decisions. Then, you can see how your decisions compare to what they did, and what the actual best strategy suggested by the solver is.
It’s also a lot of fun as you can get in the mix against some of the best in the world and see how you would perform in some of these high-pressure situations.
You can browse The Vault by individual players, events, and more. You can also see how players are doing in terms of “luck”—whether they’re up or down in chip EV over the sample of hands available on the site.
A Training Platform With a Twist
Octopi Poker is trying to do something different, adding some fun to the mix, and if you’re looking to learn poker in a way that feels a bit more relaxed, you’ll like what they have to offer.
At the same time, for hardcore grinders, they have all the advanced tools and features that allow you to dig as deep as you want.
The content inside The Vault is entertaining, but, from a learning point of view, it’s also very valuable, as you get to see how some of the best adjust in certain spots and maybe deviate from the GTO due to specific circumstances or because they have a lot of history against a particular player.
All in all, it is an interesting and powerful training platform that continues to grow with each day, and it is worth checking out regardless of what your skill level might be.
