Phil Galfond is a player who needs no introduction. Over the years, he established himself as one of the best Pot Limit Omaha players alive; he founded a popular Run It Once training site, and, as of late, he’s been one of the main ambassadors for BetRivers Poker.
There is no denying that Galfond is one of the most passionate students of the game, but he is equally as passionate about spreading the knowledge. It was that passion that gave birth to Run It Once, but that didn’t feel like enough. So, Phil went ahead and created a special Beyond The Game training program designed for those who are truly committed to learning poker.
The program saw two successful seasons, with many satisfied students coming out on the other end, and now it is back for Season 3, bigger and better than before, with an option to enroll for the duration of six or twelve months.
- The best online poker software in the US with the lowest cash game rake.
- Generous 100% deposit match bonus up to $1000 ($250 in Delaware)

- Player-first approach built around user satisfaction, value-driven promotions and meaningful rewards.
What’s Beyond The Game All About & Who Is It For?
Beyond The Game (BTG) isn’t your run-of-the-mill poker training platform. It is an exclusive program for players with ambition who feel ready to really take their game to the next level.
Anyone can apply for the program, but not everyone gets in. If you are interested in getting involved, you need to fill in an application, which is hand-reviewed by the team, and, based on that information, you’re accepted, rejected, or asked a few more questions before the final decision.
For the first two seasons, BTG only offered one option: a full-year commitment, which came at a cost of around $8,000. For Season 3, players can also apply for a 6-month membership at the cost of $4,500, and there are payment plans available for yearly memberships.
What you get for that price is a team of seven coaches (including Galfond himself). The team includes Kevin Rabichow, Jason Paster, Chris “DeathDonkey” Vitch (a mixed game specialist), Samm Hunter, Fabian “suhepx” Riebau-Schmithal, and one coach who only goes by Paul and who didn’t want to share his surname publicly, but who works privately with several high-stakes pros.
At the core of Beyond The Game are weekly calls with coaches (40 of them led by Phil himself), 100 co-working sessions, and 16 live Q&A sessions. You don’t get any one-on-one coaching with Galfond, but by the end of it, the program promises to deliver the same results at a fraction of the price.
Is It Too Much Money?
Even Galfond is aware that paying a few thousand up-front for a poker training program is a big ask and not something everyone’s ready for. Furthermore, some people may think they are ready, but then end up realizing BTG isn’t for them.
This is where the application process comes in. Beyond The Game isn’t a money grab. It is a catered, intense, and highly focused program for those who have a certain frame of mind and specific goals. If you want to learn poker the easy way, there are cheaper and simpler paths.
It is more like a boot camp for very determined individuals. The stakes you play don’t matter as much as your dedication and willingness to make a real breakthrough in the game.
So, if your ambitions are high and you want to learn about the game from the inside out, leading to a long and successful career, Beyond The Game might be the answer.
