The Golden Nugget Atlantic City received final approval to offer online gaming in New Jersey to the general public late Friday.
After voluntarily continuing to test while other New Jersey casinos opted to proceed with a full launch of internet gaming last month, Golden Nugget looked to improve the customer experience.
With a product it deems worthy enough to present to its patrons, the Golden Nugget becomes New Jersey’s seventh casino to offer online gaming after successfully completing the mandatory soft launch earlier this month.
However, the Golden Nugget will not launch online poker until 2014. Only GoldenNuggetCasino.com and nj-casino.goldennuggetcasino.com appear on the Division of Gaming Enforcement’s list of approved sites. Sources close to the situation have told pokerfuse, that “the focus is the casino for now.”
When Golden Nugget does begin offering online poker, it is expected to do so using the Ongame software offered by Amaya on the platform delivered by Bally Technologies. Betfair launched online poker on the network last month.
