He shot to fame in 2010, when he scooped two bracelets, one in Razz, the other in Seven Card Hi/Lo Stud—enough to secure him the WSOP Player of the Year award. His total tournament winnings exceed $2.2 million.
According to tweets, Kassela was previously a Republican, but has decided to run on a Democratic ticket due to the “shutdown debacle” and the Republican’s position on social issues.
