PPA Commemorates Black Friday with “Never Fold” Campaign

April 15 marks the first anniversary of Black Friday when the US Department of Justice seized domain names and handed down indictments in a shock move that shut off online poker to millions of US citizens.

The Poker Players Alliance is taking opportunity of the anniversary to re-energize its campaign for the legalisation of online poker. The PPA website has been transformed with a powerful call to action: “Never fold in the fight for America’s greatest card game.”

The poker advocacy group has produced a commemorative Black Friday Poker Chip logo that can be downloaded directly from the home page. Members and supporters are encouraged to display this, other campaigning banners and a video on their own websites and to distribute the message as widely as possible on social media.

In the week before the anniversary the PPA is holding a “Never Fold Money Bomb” fundraiser. All funds raised will be used to advocate for poker players rights to play for money online.

A distinguished group of players and supporters has been assembled by the PPA to promote the “Never Fold” message in the mainstream media:

  • Former Senator Alfonse D’Amato, PPA Chairman
  • Greg Raymer, 2004 World Series of Poker Champion
  • Select Members of Congress
  • John Pappas, Executive Director of the PPA
  • Rich Muny, PPA Vice President of Player Relations
  • Patrick Fleming, PPA Litigation Support Director
  • PPA State Directors
  • Local Poker Players
