888poker has announced a special tournament series called Summer ChampionChips to celebrate the Summer Olympics in Rio.
Eighteen tournaments will run between August 14 – 21 with low buy-ins and a total of $150,000 in guarantees. Free qualifying tournaments are running now until Saturday August 13 with super-satellite steps starting at 1 cent.
Each tournament is themed as an Olympic contest such as the Half Marathon, Long Jump and Pole Vault— the Opening Ceremony event starts with a $5000 guarantee and a $5 buy-in on August 14.
The Marathon Main Event has a $30 buy-in and a $50,000 guarantee.

The Hall of Fame
Players who make the tournament finals will start to collect points that allow them to climb the Summer ChampionChips Leaderboard —the leader of which will secure their place in the “Hall of Fame” along with $1000.
