Full Tilt Poker’s UKIPT Galway $1M Main Event looks to enter day two of the event with a big prizepool overlay.

With a €1000+€100 buy in and a million dollar guarantee the math is easy: the second stop of Season 4 of the UK & Ireland Poker Tour needs to attract 1000 runners to break even, rake not included. With the second of two Day 1’s underway, the total runners currently sits at just 836 players through to level 8.

Though late registration is open through to level 10, as it stands that leaves €164,000 needed to be put up by the sponsor site in order to fulfill the promised prizepool.

Day 1a attracted the first 231 players to the felt, including a number of recognizable names. Stars like Liv Boeree, John Duthie, Barny Boatman and Gus Hansen all took their seats, but unfortunately for them, they were unable to survive the day. Additionally, Full Tilt Ambassadors Ben Jenkins and Martins Adeniya also found themselves on the rail by day’s end.

Roughly 74 players did make it through Day 1a and on to Day 2, including Full Tilt sponsored player and subject of the recent poker documentary “Bet Raise Fold”, Danielle “Dmoongirl” Andersen, and overall Day 1a chip leader Alan Gold.

Day 1B also saw it’s share of big names taking shots at all the extra cash up top. PokerStars Pro Jake Cody and PokerStars Team Online Dale “daleroxxu” Philip joined Full Tilt Ambassadors Dermot Blain and Sinem Melin in representing their respective poker sites. But not to be overlooked as well are the big name European poker stars like David “Devilfish” Ulliot, Andy Black and Padrig Parkinson who are also in action.
