Daniel Idema Scores More Gold for Canada

Canadian professional poker player Daniel Idema reached another 2013 WSOP Final Table on Sunday and this time he made it count by taking down Event #39, $1500 Seven Card Stud Hi-Low 8-Or-Better for his second career gold bracelet and over $184,000 in first place prize money.

In addition to besting runner-up Joseph Hertzog, Idema outlasted fellow pros Mike Leah, Matt Vengrin and bracelet holder Artie Cobb in the final eight as well as a total field of 558 runners for the event.

As reported by WSOP.com, Idema’s bracelet win marks the 9th victory for Canadians this summer at the Rio.
