Officials at the European Poker Tour (EPT) announced today that the Austrian capital of Vienna will replace Berlin as the sixth stop of Season 10 of the EPT. EPT Vienna will take place from March 19-29, 2014 in the Hofburg Palace, the city’s former imperial residence.
For the European Poker Tour this is a return to Vienna as the city played host to the tour as recently as Season 7.
“Due to a variety of issues in Berlin, and a unique opportunity in Vienna, we have decided to change the location of the sixth EPT stop this year,” said EPT President Edgar Stuchly on the PokerStars blog. “ The venue can fit over 100 tables and we will be able to provide an amazing tournament schedule with a wide variety of games, and the convenience of hosting tournaments and cash games in one place, all operated by the EPT.”
The schedule for EPT Vienna is not yet available but organizers are expecting over 1000 players to descend on the city to partake in the poker offerings and they are hoping to best the 578 runners that participated in the Main Event the last time the tour was in Vienna.
