In the year and a half since Alexandre Dreyfus bought the Global Poker Index (GPI), it has expanded relentlessly, and this week it adds two new prestigious partners to its roster—the Aviation Club de France in Paris, and Casino Barcelona in Spain.

Both casinos have agreed to use the GPI as their official ranking system. Using the system will contribute to GPI’s aim of standardizing “leader boards and rankings at a club/casino level.”

Between them, the historic Aviation Club and Barcelona casino host some of the most well known live events in Europe, including the: WPT Grand Prix de Paris, EPT Barcelona, the Euro Finals of Poker, the Paris Open of Poker and the Estrellas Poker Tour.

Local players will be able to accumulate GPI points in all regular events, as well as the more high profile tournaments. GPI wants to add more casinos and poker clubs in the coming months.

“The goal is for every poker player, wherever they are in the world, to have an opportunity to be ranked on the Global Poker Index,” announced the press release.

“Having leading European poker rooms like the Aviation Club de France and Casino Barcelona joining our initiatives proves that we are continuing to make our mark in the poker world,” said GPI CEO, Alexandre Dreyfus.
