Last week’s high stakes online poker games produced an ecstatic Phil “Polirizing” Ivey. The idolized American poker pro was the only player to go over the million dollar mark; while it was his arch enemy on the virtual felts; Viktor “Isidur1” Blom, who felt the pressure piling up as he lost close to a million dollars.

This Week’s Top 10 Online Poker Winners

According to highstakesdb.com Phil Ivey started what was to be a profitable week one day late after losing $105,397 over 1,104 hands in Monday’s action; however 69 sessions of poker from Tuesday to Sunday–consisting of 6,130 hands of Draw, 8-Game, Omaha Hi/Lo and Hold’em–saw Ivey take a profit that totaled $1,303,377 giving him $1,197,980 in profit by the end of the week. The only weekly loss recorded for ‘The Tiger Woods of Poker’ was in a single session of Hold’em where he dropped $12,518.

Ivey’s most profitable game was Triple Draw, where he was the week’s biggest winner after grinding a $595,058 profit despite being faced with tough competition; including familiar high stakes online poker names such as Viktor “Isildur1” Blom Alexander “PostflopAction” Kostritsyn, Chinese player samrostan and Patrik “FinddaGrind” Antonius.
Ivey also booked the overall largest profit of the week on the Fixed Limit Omaha Hi/Lo tables. An outstanding late week performance saw Ivey finish with a $312,913 profit over 10 sessions and 1,057 hands.

Over on the 8-Game tables Ivey experienced very similar success to his previously mentioned Triple Draw plays. On Monday he lost $164,944 only to win $428,332 in 4 sessions the very next day. He also lost $169,442 yesterday, but more previous mid-week wins after Tuesday’s performance, meant he eventually booked a $302,527 profit by the end of the week.

Overall, Ivey played 37 8-Game sessions making up for the majority of his poker that week, but despite the large number of hands he was only second best to “punting-peddler”, who won $528,171 in 8-Game profits; almost matching Ivey’s Triple Draw efforts as well as confirming a place as the week’s second biggest winner behind Ivey.

Unfortunately for “punting-peddler” he was on the wrong side of an $117,098 loss on the same Triple Draw tables that brought Ivey so much prosperity. On the other hand, OMGClayAiken managed to take the second highest profit of the week at Triple Draw with a $398,230 win.

This Week’s Top 10 Online Poker Losers

Three big losses really stood out this week with Viktor “Isildur1” Blom standing out the most after reporting negative figures for the second week in a row. An astonishing wipe out of $989,030 on the Triple Draw tables occurred over the course of just 13 sessions in which Blom played 1,755 hands. Blom’s cooler on the Triple Draw tables was an everyday occurrence, but he still kept coming back for more day in and day out, continually burning out.

Had it not been for a mid-to-late week upswing playing 8-Game and Omaha Hi/Lo the story being told could have been much worse. Luckily for Blom he won $289,088 on the 8-Game tables while also slightly reducing his losses through an end of week heater taking the Omaha Hi/Lo games for an additional $39,356.

Alex “Alexonmoon” Luneau also put in an awkward performance on the Triple Draw tables losing $185,208; however his biggest losses came from the 8-Game tables with a -$409,057 deficit; the second highest loss in this style for the week behind Gus Hansen, who incidentally suffered -$444,867 worth of 8-Game losses.

As for Kyle “KPR16” Ray, his woes were due to a different set of circumstances over on the Fixed Limit Omaha Hi/Lo tables. His entire week’s losses came from just 9 sessions and 991 hands, in which the $413,381 downswing ensured he was the player to lose the most cash in at O8 over the week.

On the other end of the scale, *Phil “polarizing” Ivey*’s latest haul means he wipes off $1,197,980 of his deficit leaving him $1,506,574 in the red which is the fifth largest loss of the year. Gus Hansen (- $3,015,645), samrostan (- $2,013,809) and Viktor “Isildur1” Blom (- $1,830,085) have the worst performances so far in 2014.
