Jeff Madsen earned his third gold bracelet, and over $384,000, by taking down Event #35, $3000 Pot-Limit Omaha in the early hours of Saturday morning.
The victory marks Madsen’s first return trip to the WSOP winner’s circle since breaking onto the global stage with his impressive 2006 performance, which earned him his first two bracelets and WSOP Player of the Year honors.
As reported by WSOP.com, Madsen becomes the 4th former Player of the Year to win WSOP gold this season, joining Daniel Negreanu, Tom Schneider and Erick Lindgren on the list of those who are enjoying 2013 victories. Madsen’s first place prize money pushed his lifetime live tournament earnings to just shy of $4 million.
