The Poker Tournament Directors Association has announced the addition of three new members to the board: Jack Effel, Neil Johnson and Tab Duchateau.
The appointments expand the TDA’s directory board from five to eight members, with Effel, Johnson and Duchateau joining existing board members Matt Savage, Linda Johnson, Dave Lamb, Mike Bishop and Jan Fisher.
Effel is widely known as the tournament director of the World Series of Poker, and also serves as the Vice President of International Poker Operations for Caesars Interactive. Duchateau is the tournament director at New Jersey's Borgata Hotel & Casino, while Johnson serves as the Head of Poker Operations for PokerStars Europe.
According to Savage, who founded the TDA in 2001 along with Fisher, Johnson and Lamb, the “entire [TDA] membership has come to greatly respect Jack Effel, Neil Johnson, and Tab Duchateau for their wisdom and hard work in support of the TDA mission. They literally bring a world of experience to the Board and will help lead the Association for years to come.”
The TDA claims more than 2,000 members in 41 countries, and conducts a bi-annual summit, the next of which is scheduled for June 26 and 27, 2013, at the Venetian in Las Vegas.
The TDA was created with the goal of creating a uniform set of rules under which organized poker tournaments can be administrated. The bi-annual summit continues the process of modifying and improving the TDA’s official set of tournament rules, which are widely, though not universally, used in major venues.
