This weekend the Seminole Hard Rock Poker Open kicked off its $10,000,000 guarantee $5300 buyin main event. Not only did the tournament cover its guarantee, it crushed it.
Needing 2,000 runners just to meet the massive prize pool promise the event’s attractive payday ended up drawing a total of 2384 entries over the course of three starting days. The final prize pool is just shy of $12,000,000 with an impressive $1,700,000 for first and $1,100,000 for the runner up.
The money bubble burst on Day 2, with 338 players making the money and a min-cash being worth $7500. As the event moves into Day 3, 100 players remain with Justin Bonomo sitting atop the chip count leaderboard. Joining him in the top 10 chip counts is former November Niner, Matt Giannetti, who sits in 6th and Amir Lehavot, who is set to return to the WSOP Final Table this November.
In fact, there are a quite a few notable names still in contention as Victor Ramdin, Mimi Luu, Mark Radoja, Allen Bari, Bryn Kenney, Blair Hinkle, David “Doc” Sands, Leo Wolpert, Noah Schwartz, Adam Levy, Joe Serock, Matt Stout, Will “The Thrill” Failla, Ylon Schwartz, Jared Hamby and Mike “The Mouth” Matusow all still have chips and hopes of climbing into Final Table contention.
