Halfway Through, and the WSOP Boasts Record Numbers

Half of the 62 gold bracelets up for grabs at the 44th Annual World Series of Poker have been claimed and, according to WSOP officials, participation at the mid-way point is at an all time high.

With the help of the inaugural Millionaire Maker and the swelling number of participants in the Senior’s Event, the overall number of entrants for Bracelet Events is up 27% over last year and sits at record numbers to date. In fact, most of the key stats for the series are besting the pace of 2012 including prize money awarded (over 54.1million) and average number of entrants (1292).

Another bright light for the WSOP continues to be the Daily Deepstacks which have been drawing massive numbers on a daily basis making for gigantic prizepools for the buy-in. The most popular is the $235 3pm Deepstack which claims a 44% rise in entries and is averaging a $43,000 first place take home prize.
