Though the number of runners may be down from the nearly 6,600 of 2012, the tournament is still one of the richest in history, and will award its eventual winner a life-altering $8,359,531. In fact, 7 of the eventual November 9 will walk away millionaires, while a mincash in the event is worth a respectable $19,106.

As you might imagine, though it’s early, some big names are already wielding big stacks. The chip leader on the day was poker veteran Mark “P0ker H0” Kroon who leads all players with nearly 247,000.

Phil Hellmuth and Phil Ivey were in also action on Day 1c, both more than tripling their stacks with Hellmuth sitting at just under 100k while Ivey has nearly 120k.

While that elite list will be waiting for Wednesday, there’s a ton of notable players with healthy stacks who are ready to restart today, including the reigning champion Greg Merson who amassed over 80k on Day 1a. Joining him today will be the likes of Daniel Cates, Nick Maimone, Richard Lyndaker, Olivier Busquet, Dan Fleyshman, Sorel Mizzi, Annette Obrestad, Eoghan O’ Dea and Liv Boeree, among many others.

At the start of Day 2 there’s 4,186 players left vying to make it into the money, with Day 1a and 1b combining today for the first of two Day 2’s, retuning today at 12PM PST. The survivors of Day 1c will return on Wednesday and the entire field will be on the felt at the same time this Thursday.
