All Usernames, Passwords on 2+2 "Considered Compromised"

Poker forum Two Plus Two has been taken offline today, after it emerged that someone had gained access to usernames and encrypted passwords and had demonstrated “the ability to decrypt” them.

If any poker players have used the same log-in credentials on any other site, poker room or service, they are advised to immediately change their passwords on these services.

The poker forum was first taken offline earlier today for “maintenance.” However, according to a tweet from moderator Kevin Mathers the closure came after the discovery of the security breach.

A hacker “has displayed the ability to access e-mail addresses and encrypted passwords. He also indicated the ability to decrypt passwords,” “Kevmath” wrote using the TwitLonger service to get the message out. “While it is unclear the extent of data to which he gained access, e-mail addresses and passwords on the Two Plus Two forums should be considered compromised.”

A statement from Two Plus Two is expected soon. The forum will remain offline until the security hole is patched.
