Jason Koon Joins GGPoker as the New Global Ambassador Jason Koon Joins GGPoker as the New Global Ambassador

GGPoker has signed up Jason Koon to as their latest brand ambassador, the company has revealed.

The well-known high-roller with over $32.5 million in live tournament earnings will join the GGPoker team, consisting of the likes of Daniel Negreanu, Fedor Holz, Bertrand ‘ElkY’ Grospellier and Dan Bilzerian.

However, Koon will take up the role of the Global Ambassador, which entails a very specific set of tasks. He will focus his efforts on strengthening security and integrity of games on the site and act as an advocate for high-volume and high-stakes players.

With this deal, GGPoker is seeking to further improve its market position and establish itself as the number one online poker site, taking the coveted title from its biggest competitors, PokerStars.

Perfect Fit for the Role

The name of Jason Koon is well known to the wider poker audience. Currently seated at the 10th place of the All Time Money List, Koon has accomplished most of his success in super high-roller tournaments across the globe.

With eight seven-figure cashes on his resume and countless six-figure results, he is undoubtedly one of the most successful poker players on the circuit today.

Koon is also often described as one of the “nicest” high-stakes pros. He enjoys a great reputation in the poker community, which makes him the perfect fit for the new role with GGPoker.

For his part, the high-stakes grinder did not try to hide his enthusiasm about new opportunities.

“I’m really excited to join GGPoker, particularly so soon after they’ve taken a leading role in the poker world,” he said via press release. “I’m also thrilled to be in a position to help with game security and player advocacy, making GGPoker an even better place to play our favorite game.”

In a statement for PocketFives, Koon also explained that he was particularly excited that GGPoker was devoted to improving their software and offering the best possible player experience. He said that the inability to offer new software was always a source of frustration for him during his time at partypoker.

The high-roller spent four years as a partypoker ambassador, but that partnership came to an end earlier this year, leaving the path clear for new opportunities.

GGPoker has recognized the value that someone of Koon’s caliber can bring to the table. As a very successful player in his own right and a reputable member of the high-stakes community, he represents the perfect link between the room and a valuable segment of its player base. Among other things, Koon will be tasked with making sure VIP needs are heard and catered to as much as possible.

Of course, as a part of the team, Koon will also play his role in increasing the operator’s visibility at various live events worldwide. As someone who regularly plays in the highest stakes games available, he is likely to excel in this department as well.
