Dublin is one of the top poker locations in the world, and starting April 3, PokerStars will be headed to the Irish capital for the PokerStars LIVE 2023 Irish Poker Open. This year’s edition will take place at the Royal Dublin Society, located in the heart of Dublin City with plenty of Irish culture nearby.
The week-long poker extravaganza comprises 40 events from April 3 to April 10, including satellite games. The marquee game, as always, will be the Irish Poker Open Main Event, which guarantees €1,000,000 in prizes, and there will also be a Mini Irish Open.
Other series highlights include €3k and €5k High Roller games, the Hendon Mob Championship, America’s Cup, and the APAT Irish National Championship. There is also a host of live satellites running throughout the week in Dublin, and online satellites are available on the PokerStars client leading up to and during the events.
Two-card and four-card variants will be offered during the PokerStars LIVE series and restricted entry events like the Irish Open Ladies and the Irish Open Seniors. Buy-ins range from €150 (€115 for satellite games) to €5,000, with many of the Championship games priced in the €250 – €350 range. Enter the €1 Million Main as Late as Day 2
While there will undoubtedly be a lot of interest in the €3k and €5k High Roller games, the Main Event will be the star attraction. With €1 million guaranteed for a buy-in of €1,150, there will be loads of value in the Main, regardless of whether or not the tournament hits the guarantee.
Players will have four Day 1 shots at a bag for Day 2, but short-stack wizards might wait until Day 2 to jump into the thick of things. Players who choose to register before the start of Day 2 will sit down with 25 big blinds, so for those who prefer playing shorter stacks, it might be the ideal option.
