888poker Changes the Way Players Re-Enter Tournaments 888poker Changes the Way Players Re-Enter Tournaments

Always looking to deliver the best possible game experience to its player base, 888poker has just introduced a change to how players can get back into the action after losing all their chips in a re-entry game. With the new Re-Entry feature now live on the dotcom client, players will notice a big difference when they end up felted — instead of rebuying into the same seat, players have the chance to re-enter the game on a new table.

MTT poker can be a brutal game; even the best in the business still tend to lose 60% or more of the tournaments they enter. With the variance of the game on full display in every hand, it is pretty easy for a player to lose all their chips early in a game, and oftentimes, they’ve made no mistakes to end up felted.

It is among the most frustrating experiences in poker, staring at a board that crushes their monster as another player stacks their chips, but 888poker is looking to ease that pain a bit.

While players have long had the option to buy back into the same seat in many games, the new system changes that from a “rebuy” to a “re-enter” situation where the player takes their new stack to a new randomly assigned table rather than getting sent right back to the same seat they just busted from.

New Feature Active for The Festival Online

The Festival Online at 888pokerAmong the first big series to feature the new re-entry option is The Festival Online with $888,000 guaranteed. The games are ongoing for The Festival Online now on the 888poker global client, with the first week of action complete but another full week to go.

So far, the series is running well above its pre-series promises. For the events that have run so far, The Festival Online had $281k in guarantees set, but the total prizes awarded are $313,480.

Not all the tournaments so far have managed to hit their guarantees, but only four have missed up to this point in the series for about $17k in combined overlay for those games, but with more than $26k collected in fees, that should not be a huge worry for the operator.

And there is a lot to smile about halfway through the Festival Online. So far there have been almost 5000 unique entries that combined for more than 6,00 total entries and rebuys.

That has made for some pretty big games where players were able to take advantage of the new re-entry feature. One game, the Mystery Bounty High Roller, nearly doubled its $12k guarantee with $23,400 in prizes, while the Super KO High Roller was 74% above its guarantee with $17,400 in prizes.

It was not just the big games that saw large numbers, though — the PKO Mini got almost 55% more money in the prize pool than the $6k pre-series promise. A further five games so far have ended up with at least 30% extra in the prize pool.

There is still a full week of action in The Festival Online, and players can take advantage of the latest feature from 888poker in all the big events and take their fresh stack to a new table.
