PokerStars announced a permanent change in starting times to their Sunday tournament schedule starting June 5th. In addition to the time change they have also announced that for June 5th only they have doubled the guarantees of their largest tournaments and provided over $200,000 in value-added satellites.
Satellites for the Sunday majors will have additional seats added to their prize pools. The additional seats range from 10 for the Sunday Supersonic to 100 for the Sunday Storm. The seats awarded from these special satellites will only be redeemable on Sunday June 5th.
The time changes for the Sunday Majors has been something requested by the players in markets still served by PokerStars since “Black Friday.” With PokerStars no longer serving the US market, there is significantly less need to accommodate players in North American time zones. As a result most of the Sunday tournaments will begin two hours earlier than they had previously.
