BetMGM Poker Ontario Review

BetMGM Poker Ontario is one of the leading real money online poker sites in Ontario, offering cash games, tournaments, Sit & Gos, SPINS, and fast-fold poker on desktop and mobile.

One of BetMGM Poker Ontario’s biggest advantages is its shared player pool. BetMGM is joined by its sister platforms PartyPoker Ontario and bwin Ontario, with all three rooms forming the BetMGM Poker Ontario Network. Players across the three sites compete at the same tables and in the same tournaments.

In this BetMGM Poker Ontario review, we take a closer look at the network, tournament schedule, cash games, poker software, mobile app, banking options, and everything else Ontario players should know before choosing the room.

BetMGM Poker Ontario Quick Facts

Is BetMGM Poker Available in Ontario?

Yes. BetMGM Poker is regulated for real-money online poker in Ontario and has operated in the province since the launch of the regulated iGaming market in April 2022.

Players must be at least 19 years old and physically located in Ontario when participating in real-money games.

BetMGM Poker is one of six regulated poker sites currently available in the province, alongside GGPoker, PokerStars on FanDuel, 888, partypoker, and bwin.

BetMGM Poker Ontario Network & Shared Liquidity

BetMGM Poker does not operate as a standalone Ontario player pool.

Instead, it shares liquidity with PartyPoker Ontario and bwin Ontario. Together, the three sites make up the BetMGM Poker Ontario Network.

Players using any of the three brands can compete against one another at the same cash-game tables and in the same tournaments. This gives the network a larger combined player pool than any of the individual brands could provide on its own.

BetMGM, partypoker, and bwin became Ontario’s first multi-skin online poker network shortly after the regulated market opened in 2022.

BetMGM Poker vs PartyPoker & bwin Ontario

The three poker rooms share the same underlying poker network, so their core poker offerings are closely connected.

That includes:

• Shared cash-game tables
• Shared tournament fields
• Shared player liquidity
• Similar poker software
• Access to the same overall network traffic

For players choosing among the three, the differences are therefore less about the poker games themselves and more about which brand and broader gambling platform they prefer.

BetMGM is the largest of the three brands in North America and combines poker with BetMGM’s Ontario sportsbook and online casino.

Can BetMGM Ontario Share Players Outside the Province?

Not currently.

Ontario’s regulated poker market remains ring-fenced, meaning BetMGM Poker Ontario players cannot currently compete against players on BetMGM’s US poker network or partypoker’s international player pool.

However, the legal situation surrounding shared liquidity is developing.

A 2025 Ontario court decision opened the door to regulated international shared liquidity, but that decision was appealed. The case has since moved to the Supreme Court of Canada, leaving broader player pooling on hold while the legal process continues.

The outcome could eventually create opportunities for Ontario-licensed poker networks to connect with players outside the province, but no such expansion has been implemented at BetMGM Poker Ontario.

There is also the possibility of future domestic shared liquidity between Ontario and Alberta as Canada’s regulated commercial iGaming market expands. Any such arrangement would require the necessary regulatory and legal framework before players could be combined.

BetMGM Poker Tournaments in Ontario

Tournaments are one of the stronger parts of the BetMGM Poker Ontario offering.

Because BetMGM, partypoker, and bwin share liquidity, tournament fields include players from all three skins. This helps the network support a broader daily schedule and larger guarantees than any one of the brands would likely sustain independently.

No-Limit Hold’em dominates the tournament lobby, with games available across a range of buy-ins and formats.

Players can find:

• Daily multi-table tournaments
• Sunday majors
• Progressive Knockout tournaments
• Sit & Gos
• SPINS
• Satellites
• Tournament series
• Qualifiers for selected live events

Multi-Table Tournaments (MTTs)

BetMGM Poker Ontario runs daily MTTs covering lower buy-ins through larger weekend events.

The Sunday schedule provides some of the network’s biggest regular tournaments. Current highlights include the $265 Sunday Party, which carries a $10,000 guarantee, along with the $109 Sunday Monsterstack and $55 Sunday Carnival, each with $3,000 guaranteed.

The precise schedule and guarantees can change, so players should check the tournament lobby for the current lineup.

BetMGM also runs larger tournament festivals during the year, giving players access to schedules that go beyond the regular daily and weekly MTT offering.

Poker Satellites & Live Event Qualifiers

BetMGM Poker Ontario regularly uses satellites to give players lower-cost routes into larger tournaments.

The operator also runs online qualifiers connected to selected live poker events.

For tournament players interested in live poker, these qualifiers can be one of the more distinctive reasons to follow the BetMGM tournament lobby rather than looking only at the regular guaranteed events.

Sit & Go Tournaments

Sit & Gos provide an alternative for players who do not want to commit to a scheduled multi-table tournament.

Unlike an MTT with a predetermined start time, a Sit & Go begins once the required number of players have registered.

BetMGM’s network provides Sit & Go options with different table sizes and blind structures, allowing players to choose shorter tournament formats without waiting for a scheduled MTT.

SPINS

SPINS are fast Sit & Go-style tournaments played for randomly determined prize pools.

The format provides much shorter sessions than conventional MTTs and is designed for players who want tournament-style poker without committing several hours to a large field event.

Cash Games at BetMGM Poker Ontario

BetMGM Poker Ontario offers cash games through the shared BetMGM/partypoker/bwin player pool.

No-Limit Hold’em accounts for most of the cash-game action, with Pot-Limit Omaha providing the main alternative.

The network spreads games across a range of stakes, making it possible for recreational players and lower-stakes grinders to find tables without immediately moving into larger games.

The shared network is particularly important for cash poker. Instead of dividing BetMGM, partypoker, and bwin players among three separate pools, players from all three brands can be seated together.

No-Limit Hold’em

No-Limit Hold’em is the primary cash-game format at BetMGM Poker Ontario.

Players can find 6-max tables across multiple stakes, with the strongest liquidity generally concentrated at the lower and middle limits.

Heads-up Hold’em tables are also available.

Pot-Limit Omaha

Pot-Limit Omaha is the network’s main alternative to Hold’em.

PLO generally attracts fewer players than NLHE, but regular tables are available across several stake levels.

Players primarily interested in Omaha should check the lobby at the times they normally play, as liquidity can vary considerably according to stake and time of day.

fastforward Poker

BetMGM also offers fastforward Poker, the network’s fast-fold cash-game format.

Instead of remaining at the same table after folding, players are immediately moved to another table and dealt a new hand.

This substantially increases the number of hands that can be played per hour.

Fast-fold formats require larger player pools than ordinary cash tables to operate smoothly, so fastforward availability can vary according to traffic.

Poker Games at BetMGM Ontario

The main poker games and formats available at BetMGM Poker Ontario include:

• No-Limit Hold’em
• Pot-Limit Omaha
• Multi-table tournaments
• Sit & Gos
• SPINS
• fastforward Poker
• Heads-up cash games
• Progressive Knockout tournaments
• Satellites

Hold’em is the main game on the network, with PLO providing the most significant alternative.

Players looking specifically for less common poker variants should check the current lobby before signing up, as traffic outside Hold’em and PLO is much less consistent.

BetMGM Ontario Poker Software

BetMGM Poker Ontario uses the partypoker platform that powers the shared BetMGM/partypoker/bwin network.

The software is available on desktop and mobile and provides the main features expected from a modern online poker client.

Players can browse cash games and tournaments, filter the lobby, register for events, manage their account, and customize several aspects of the playing experience.

Poker Lobby

The lobby separates cash games and tournaments and provides filtering tools to help players find appropriate games.

Tournament listings display information such as:

• Buy-in
• Game type
• Start time
• Registration status
• Guarantee
• Number of registered players

Cash-game players can similarly filter tables according to game and stakes.

Poker Tables

The playing interface keeps most important controls readily accessible.

Bet sizing can be adjusted using the betting slider and preset sizing options, while players can customize elements such as card appearance.

A four-color deck is also available for players who prefer each suit to have its own color.

Multi-Tabling

Desktop players can open multiple poker tables simultaneously.

This is particularly useful for cash-game grinders and tournament players who want to participate in several games at once.

The practical number of tables will depend on the player’s screen size, computer setup, and preferred layout.

BetMGM Poker Ontario Mobile App

BetMGM Poker Ontario is available on mobile devices, allowing players to access cash games and tournaments away from a desktop computer.

The mobile app provides access to the poker lobby, account functions, banking, tournament registration, and real-money tables.

Players can navigate between cash games and tournaments and use the main in-game betting controls from a mobile interface designed for smaller screens.
