A segment of WPT Global’s Canadian customers found themselves on the receiving end of a surprise email this week: their accounts are being moved to Nexa Poker, a new, invite-only room that looks like exactly like WPT Global.
Not all WPT Global accounts are affected. The WPT Global X account and Discord moderators are still active, and anyone concerned has been told to contact referral@wptglobal.com.
This promises to be excellent, discussing tilt, trolls and when to clap back at your opponent.
It runs in Feb 25 at 9pm EST.
The article draws on philosophy to frame the idea of 'ghosting’ in online poker, referencing Gilbert Ryle’s critique of mind-body dualism. In poker, though, the 'ghost’ isn’t a philosophical concept, it’s just someone else making your decisions for you.

Do you think you have what it takes to beat one of the best heads-up players? This is your chance to prove it – and make a hefty sum in the process.
Doug Polk has issued an open challenge to all US & Canada players who play on ClubWPT Gold. Play a match of 5,000 hands at 100/200+, and if you win, you get a $25,000 bounty. With each match Polk wins, the bounty will increase by $25k up to the maximum of $100k for the fourth and final match.
Polk says he will pick opponents based on who thinks will provide the most compelling match for the viewers, but everyone’s free to throw their hat into the ring!
PokerOrg has teamed up with PokerStars to launch a competition with a $5,000 Irish Open package up for grabs.
All you need to do is join PokerOrg, which is free, and then pick a team of three players from their list of online tournament regulars. The competition coincides with the 2026 SCOOP and every in-the-money finish by your team will earn you points.
WSOP Europe 2026 is set for Prague, and organizers are dangling three distinct online routes for hopefuls to win their way into the action.
WSOP Online will launch weekly $215 satellites every Sunday starting in March, where winners get a $10,000 package that covers the Main Event seat and a hotel room at the Hilton. For all other ways to qualify, check out the article from the WSOP.
Well, we know that FanDuel are testing a poker client in New Jersey, Michigan and Pennsylvania under combined PokerStars-FanDuel branding.
Plus we have spotted job posts for poker roles at FanDuel.
Oh and three, a long-time product manager at PokerStars made a move to FanDuel.
Well, well, well… The official press release is still pending, but PokerStars has already rolled out the SCOOP 2026 schedule on its client.
This year’s Spring Championship of Online Poker runs from March 1–26 and comes with $45 million+ in guaranteed prize pools. That’s a noticeable dip compared to previous editions, but don’t let that fool you; the volume is massive.
🔹 $45M+ in guarantees
🔹 400 tournaments across 136 events
🔹 Buy-ins from $5.50 to $15,000
🔹 A SCOOP trophy for every event winner (except in certain countries due to regional regulations)
On top of that, the series is backed by two promotions worth over $600,000:
🎁 SCOOP Lucky Dip – $525,000 in prizes
🏆 $100,000 SCOOP Player of the Series leaderboard
Ok, the full schedule for the 57th World Series of Poker is out—100 live bracelets.
But where are the online bracelets?
Looks like WSOP is holding off announcing them this year, probably because their software deal with 888poker runs until early 2026. They’re likely waiting to see how that plays out before making it official.
Last year, they announced online bracelets in March, and in 2024, even later—but that was for different reasons, mainly the shared liquidity stuff.
The BetRivers Poker socks showed up… and people actually seem pretty into them 🧦
Didn’t expect this level of reaction, but some players are putting them right up there with trophies or rings.
“Idk accessories for both feet seem greater than a ring for just one hand.”
Fair point.
They were part of the Christmas promos from BetRivers Poker. If you missed them, there may be another chance later in the year.
GGPoker just dropped a cryptic post on X: “Be Ready Feb 13,” and it’s a Friday the 13th! 🤯
Could it be a spooky surprise, or are we in for something big like the WSOP 2026 schedule reveal? Maybe a new tournament series, promo, new partnership, or something totally unexpected? Whatever it is, we’re ready for it!
This might be an old post, but damn… Patrick “padspoker” Leonard’s trophy collection is unreal. SCOOP, WCOOP, bracelets, the man just stacks hardware.
And speaking of trophies, we’ve already talked about the BetRivers Poker Spring Championship Series, but it’s worth another look. All 88 events come with an exclusive BetRivers trophy for the winner, plus one more for the Player of the Series leaderboard champ.

And yep… the record’s broken. 🤯
GGMasters Anniversary Edition ($10M GTD) posts a $1.79M overlay — the largest ever seen online.
10,041 in the final flight.
59,480 entries total.
Well, well, well… 👀 GGPoker’s GGMasters Anniversary is currently sitting on a $2.6M overlay at the time of writing and it has a real shot at becoming the largest overlay in online poker history.
For context, the current record belongs to India’s PokerBaazi GOAT, which overlaid by $1.4M, while PokerStars’ The Big Blowout comes in second after missing its $5M guarantee by $1.23M.
With roughly 2 hours of late registration still open, GGMasters needs about $1.2M more in buy-ins, roughly 8,700 entries, just to avoid rewriting the record books, which feels like a very tall task.
This is the 7th and final flight of the $150 buy-in event carrying a massive $10M guarantee. It required 72,464 total entries to break even and has drawn just over 53,000 so far.
In a couple of hours, we’ll know exactly how historic this one turns out to be. 🍿
That’s according to the latest reports on Fuse and PRO. The current timeline has the first licenses being issued in December 2026, so the go-live will likely be a couple of months later.
What we expect from regulated online poker in NZ: international player pools, nothing too restrictive in terms of min/max bets, and taxes that are fairly reasonable. The big negative: a limited number of licenses. With only 12 up for grabs, we can expect maybe half a dozen total poker sites. Still, all major networks should hopefully get coverage: I’d expect licensing attempts from PokerStars, GG (or through a third party), one or two iPoker skins, probably 888, and maybe PartyPoker.
Ireland’s push to regulate its online gambling market could have major implications for online poker and not necessarily good ones.
As we reported last year, the proposed framework includes a maximum €10 stake and a €3,000 win cap. Applied to online poker, those limits would effectively kill the game overnight.
The big question, though, is whether poker will even fall under those rules. There’s still a chance it could be classified separately, which would change everything.
We should start getting clarity soon. License applications open on Monday, February 9, and how operators respond could give the first real clues about poker’s future in Ireland.
It goes to show that not all partnerships coming to an end mean change for the worse. Lex’s parting ways with PokerStars (after 17 years) seems to have really invigorated him!
Maybe we could all learn something from mixing things up a bit.
The operator already connects Pennsylvania, Michigan, Delaware, and West Virginia, and New Jersey will make it five, a first for regulated poker networks in the US.
While the company once hinted at a 2025 launch, the timeline has slipped a bit, but the goal remains firm: get New Jersey online as soon as possible.
Global Poker just launched a new Bad Beat Jackpot promo and it’s not the usual setup.
Instead of losing with a monster hand, it’s based on all-in equity. If you get it in as a 70%+ favorite in a ring game and still lose, that bad beat earns you leaderboard points. The higher your equity when you lose, the better your chances.
All your bad beats stack across the month, and players share at least SC 100,000 every month.
Clubs Poker just announced what it calls a 'real treat’ for new players: a 300 percent boost in Sweeps Coins and 30 free spins when you buy at least $10 in Gold Coins. The offer is straightforward. Once you make your purchase, you get 30 SC and can use them at the poker tables or in the casino.
'If you create a new Clubs Poker account and purchase at least $10 worth of Gold Coins (GC), you will receive 30 SC and 30 free spins for the casino.’
The series boasts 69 tournaments covering a wide range of buy-ins, from $2.20 all the way to $5,300. The series is designed to get players ready for the main SCOOP festival coming in March.
'The SCOOP Warm Up is your opportunity to start your SCOOP grind early and enter spring in full tournament grind mode.’
This makes it the third feature on the site to carry a fee, following Time Bank and Reveal Hands, both of which are typically free on other platforms.
According to Anuj, 'The cost to use Rabbit Hunt is displayed directly on the button and varies depending on the stakes being played.’ A screenshot reviewed by pokerfuse showed a charge of 0.5 Chips to use the option in an 11.5 Chip pot.
Players are apparently not pleased with the trend. As Anuj notes, 'Charging players for features that are widely free elsewhere is unlikely to be well-received.’
Still, ClubWPT Gold maintains these are optional add-ons, so the choice (and the chip cost) is yours.
Anuj reports for pokerfuse that each regional series is offering 50 tournaments, down from last year’s 89, so the total prize money guaranteed just tips over $1.5 million.
Buy-ins now start as low as $7, with some new price points mixed in. The Main Events, still to come, will see $200 buy-ins with guarantees between $70K and $100K.
Just a reminder: GGPoker’s new rewards program, Ocean Rewards, replaces Fish Buffet tomorrow 🌊

ClubWPT Gold going down for maintenance on day one of their anniversary celebration is… a choice 😂
Maybe this means something huge is coming 👀
Once-upon-a-time, back in 2008, Betfair Poker players stumbled onto a bug that would make even the calmest developer sweat. If everyone moved all-in on the first hand of a six-player sit and go, the winner got first place money, and everyone else received second place payouts.
Forums erupted with stories of players quickly climbing the stakes and raking in money.
Betfair’s offices were closed overnight, so the bug went unchecked until the following afternoon. After discovering the losses, the site quickly shut down the affected games and froze some accounts. The company eventually demanded repayment from players it accused of collusion, even threatening legal action.
The highlight is the Double Glitch, Double the Comeback promo, which targets Cub3d SNG players. In this format, even if you finish second or third, you might get a Glitch prize.
That means if you collect $8.30 in Glitch prizes in a day, you get an additional $8.30 in SNG tickets. No opt-in is needed, and tickets are credited within 96 hours. The promotion runs through February 11 in all four states where BetRivers operates.

All it takes is a $10 deposit on Kalshi using his promo code. Once entered, you are eligible for what PokerNews calls 'free access to this summer’s showpiece occasion.’
Closer to the event, there will be plenty of online satellites and packages giving away Main Event entry for less, so if prediction markets are not your thing, don’t worry. There will be more ways to win your way to WSOP 2026 as the year gets underway.
WSOP Online is making it rain for cash game grinders, rolling out a week-long Cash Game Festival with more bonuses than a loyalty card at your favorite coffee shop. Rakeback hits 50 percent, reload bonuses cap at 500 dollars, and there is even a challenge to keep you glued to the table.
It is almost enough to make you forget about chasing bracelets.
The province has opened up registration for private operators and published a set of rules covering everything from onboarding to enforcement.
Dale Nally, the minister in charge, told the Edmonton Journal that launching the new market will take “a few months,” but there’s no firm date yet. The standards are out, the applications are open, and now the waiting begins.
Alberta is set to become only the second Canadian province to officially regulate online poker, making it a notable move for players and operators alike.
With Kalshi at 97% for repeal by 2027. But don’t get too excited. The market has low liquidity, and it can shift with one big market maker adjusting their position. It was probably due to the hearing in the House Rules Committee yesterday.
Things have shifted back down since: at the time of writing, we’re at 39% for repeal by next year. Still, it’s one we’ll be watching.
No idea what any of this is about? here’s our primer from last year. Not a lot has changed since, other than various legislative efforts to repeal.
Kevin Martin loves nothing more than big-brother-style streams. So this time, he decided to spend the whole weekend in isolation for the 'Warroom’ Finale, promising viewers a marathon of high-stakes poker action. His commitment was not just to play, but to lock in for the long haul.
“I’m locking myself in. High stakes all weekend!”
The final numbers? Twenty-nine thousand in buy-ins, just over twenty-nine thousand in cashes.
