Lesniak Bill to Accept Foreign Wagers Reintroduced in New Jersey

Permits to offer internet gaming to interstate and international customers limited to New Jersey operators.

  • New Jersey State Senator Ray Lesniak has amended and reintroduced a bill to the State assembly that would allow the licensing of operators to provide internet wagering “to persons located outside of New Jersey or the United States.”
  • Under the new bill, the New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement will be authorized to issue foreign Internet wagering permits to allow for the offering of internet gaming to other US states and foreign jurisdictions.
  • Such activity will only be allowed by New Jersey casinos and their affiliated internet gaming partners.

iPoker Introduces Twister Poker, Jackpot Format Single Table Tournaments

New three-handed winner take all format tournaments include a randomly allocated prize pool.

  • January 20th sees the introduction of Twister, a new jackpot format sit and go on iPoker. Each Twister Sit and Go (SNG) is a three player single table tournament where the winner takes all the prize money.
  • The jackpot element is introduced by a random determination of what the prize pool will be for each SNG. A proportion of the buy in for each tournament is pooled to a jackpot prize fund.
  • A proportion of that fund is then randomly awarded to each SNG. The prize fund can be enhanced by up to 1,000 times the buy in with the minimum prize for the winner of each SNG being at least twice the buy in
