US Lotteries Oppose Wire Act Amendments
Opponents of the proposed ban on online gambling increase with the addition of the North American Association of State and Provincial Lotteries.
- The Executive Director of the North American Association of State and Provincial Lotteries (NASPL) has written to Senator Lindsey Graham to oppose his Sheldon Adelson backed proposals to amend the Wire Act.
- Graham’s proposals would amend the Wire Act to include bets placed over the internet,
- The NASPL believes that it is a “state’s right to make these decisions as they relate to gaming,”
WSOP, 888 New Jersey Release Android App
The new app now available as a direct download.
- WSOP.com New Jersey has released its Android mobile app. The release was promised in December last year.
- With mobile gaming becoming an ever greater source of revenues, the impact of adding an Android client could well show up very quickly in both revenues and cash game traffic numbers.

This past weekend, during the World Poker Tour Canadian Spring Open at the Playground Poker Club in Montreal, the casino’s $415k Bad Beat Jackpot was hit by a player who had just busted out of the tournament. In what was better-than-perfect timing for Richard Figiel, the WPT entrant busted out of the Main Event on Day 1a and quickly jumped into a $1/$2 cash game when the above photographed hand took place.
