The WSOP-C Montreal is only days away and if you have been thinking about playing this prestigious circuit festival, the clock is ticking.
Since mid-June, GGPoker has been running online qualifiers exclusively for Canadians and it is the final opportunity to turn a modest investment into a seat valued at C$2,500 in one of the year’s most anticipated poker festivals in North America.
Online satellites are being run on both the GGPoker dot-com platform as well as on GGPoker Ontario, a platform available only for Ontario online poker players.
The live action kicks off at Playground Poker Club in Kahnawake, just outside Montreal, Quebec, from August 18 to September 2, 2025. The festival features 18 ring events and the schedule guarantees C$5 million in prize money.
Central to the festival is the Main Event, with a C$2,500 buy-in and a C$2.2 million guarantee. It offers three starting flights—Day 1A on August 28, Day 1B on August 29, and Day 1C on August 30—followed by Day 2 on August 31 and the showdown finale on September 1.

Final Online Qualifiers Underway
Already, over 200 Main Event seats have been claimed via GGPoker Ontario, with more than 50 won through the GGPoker dot-com platform for Canada poker players. That means over 250 hopefuls are already locked in—don’t let your shot slip away.
GGPoker’s satellite structure offers high accessibility, with buy-ins starting at just C$1 for Canadian players on the dot-com platform and C$3 on GGPoker Ontario. Players can progress through affordable qualifiers at C$10 and C$75, all leading to a seat in the C$2,500 Main Event. Adding further value, GGPoker is also hosting daily freerolls, giving players the chance to win a seat with no financial investment.
These satellites use the Target Stack format, meaning players win their way in by reaching a specific chip stack rather than surviving to the bubble. These satellites are running around the clock, but this is the final opportunity for players to win their spot.
“I’m always pumped when WSOP events are held in Canada and the wonderful Canadian poker community gets to share in the thrills and excitement associated with the world’s top poker experience,” said Daniel Negreanu, global ambassador of GGPoker. “Win your way in at GGPoker and take aim at at least $5M in prizes — it’s going to be great!”
WSOP-C Montreal August Schedule Highlights
Beyond the Main Event, the WSOP-C Montreal schedule is packed with a diverse mix of tournaments designed to appeal to a wide range of players. The action opens with the C$400 Mini Main Event, the very first tournament in the 18-ring schedule.
Taking place from August 18 to 23, it offers six starting flights and boasts a substantial C$500,000 guarantee, setting the tone for the rest of the series. Another major draw is Event #6, the C$400 Mystery Bounty, which features three starting flights and carries a C$200,000 guarantee, with the final day set for August 25.
Among the standout tournaments is The Colossus, an event with an impressive C$800,000 guaranteed prize pool. This tournament will run four starting flights from August 24 to 27, giving players multiple chances to secure their place in the later stages. High-stakes action is also on the schedule with Event #13, the Mega Stack High Roller, which comes with a C$5,000 buy-in and a substantial guarantee. Event #15, another marquee tournament, offers a C$150,000 prize pool and requires a C$1,000 buy-in.
Players with smaller bankrolls will find no shortage of options. A selection of C$400 buy-in events fills the schedule, including the NLHE 6-Max on August 18, a Progressive Knockout (PKO) event on August 19, a Mega Stack on August 20, and a Hold’em Bounty event on August 21. In addition, the series features both Seniors and Ladies events, each carrying a C$400 buy-in.
The range of buy-ins for the festival spans from C$400 to C$5,000, ensuring accessibility for players at different levels while maintaining opportunities for high-stakes competition. Every event guarantees a prize pool between C$20,000 and C$2,200,000, with the overall series guarantees adding up to nearly C$5 million. All tournaments will allow unlimited re-entries.
The festival also introduces milestone satellites, also referred to as target stack or landmark satellites. These offer a unique path into larger events by awarding seats to players who accumulate a predetermined chip stack rather than advancing based on survival to the bubble. Milestone satellites will be available for key tournaments, including the Main Event, The Colossus, and the High Roller, with buy-ins ranging from C$150 to C$600, depending on the target event.
“We are absolutely thrilled to host not only one, but two WSOP Circuit events at Playground this year!” said Playground’s Vice President of Gaming Operations, Ryan Bevens. “Playground has always been where poker dreams come true, and we look forward to welcoming players from across Canada and around the world to experience the excitement and prestige that only WSOP-C events bring. See you soon!”
WSOP has confirmed that the Montreal WSOP Circuit stop will adopt the newly launched WSOP+ Plus app, enhancing the live poker experience. The app streamlines event registration, player tracking, and access to tournament information.
