Variety of Formats and Affordable Buy-Ins
The World KO Championship Poker Series is now live, and it offers an extensive daily tournament schedule. While all events are played with some type of knockout structure, the exact format varies from one event to the next.
Super Terminators, Progressive Knockouts, Big Bounty Hunters, and Speed Run PKOs are just a few of the formats that will run throughout the festival, with each format bringing a slightly different set of rules, speed of play, and knockout rewards.
Most interesting for many players is the Mystery Bounty format, which will be featured in the Main Event, as well as a number of other tournaments. In this unpredictable format, the knockout bounties are only awarded once the tournament reaches its final stages, and the value of each KO is generated by the RNG, with the top bounty often worth as much as the first-place prize.
To give all its players a chance to participate, Stake US created a schedule that features events with buy-ins as low as 5 SC, the perfect entry point for newcomers and low-stakes grinders. 100k SC Main Event and Bye Day Specials
The main highlight of the entire Series will be the 100k SC Mystery Bounty Main Event, which will be a Phased event with a final day on July 20, the last day of the festival.
The Main Event will feature a 20 SC buy-in and allow players to enter Phase 1 multiple times throughout the festival, ensuring everyone gets a chance to qualify for the final Phase.
That said, the tournament will use the Best Stack Forward format, which means you can only advance with your biggest stack, while others will be forfeited in the event you qualify for Phase 2 more than once.
The tournament’s massive prize pool and affordable buy-in will make it very interesting for low-stakes sweepstakes grinders, as it offers an opportunity to play for one of the biggest prize pools in Stake US history, along with the potential for significant Mystery Bounties.
Beyond the Main Event, the World KO Championship Poker Series will also feature Bye Day Specials, which will be played on every day that the World Cup is on a break. These tournaments are scheduled for July 8, 12, 13, 16, and 17, and will feature more than 700,000 SC in guaranteed prizes.
The exciting thing about the Bye Day Specials is that their prize pool will go up by 500 SC for every goal scored at the Cup in the period preceding them, which means soccer fans have more reasons to cheer for goals in the knockout games.
Another key event will be the 50 SC Mystery Bounty Special on July 18, which will act as somewhat of a high roller event for the Series. With a slightly higher buy-in and a 20k SC guaranteed prize pool, the tournament will give players a chance to compete at a higher level and with more at stake.
