While PokerStars on FanDuel Ontario has gotten off to a bit of a slow start, it seems like all the pieces are finally falling into their proper places, and the operator is ready to move full speed ahead.
The tournament schedule on the site is out of the testing phase, and it is shaping into a quality offering for Ontario players. To celebrate this important milestone, FanDuel Poker Ontario is throwing the No Sweat Series, offering CAD $100,000 in prizes.
As the name suggests, and just as we saw with the new platform’s launch in the US, this is a freeroll series, so players don’t have to put up any buy-ins to get involved. Instead, they can register using tickets awarded by the operator and join the fun.
Get Involved With Daily Freeroll Action
The No Sweat Series kicked off on June 22, and it consists of two dozen events, with a few tournaments on the docket every day.
To get involved, simply log into your PokerStars on FanDuel Ontario account, check what tickets you have available, and register for the target events.
Players don’t need to pay any buy-ins, and there are no re-entries available, so everybody is on an equal footing. This is a great way to test the new platform, have some fun, and potentially kick-start your online poker bankroll.
All tournaments in the series feature turbo and hyper turbo structures, which means they won’t take too long to complete.
As far as the guaranteed prize pools, these range from CAD $1,000 all the way up to CAD $10,000. While the first couple of $10k freerolls are in the books, there are at least four more taking place during the second half of the series (Events #13, #17, #20, and #21).
Although freerolls tend to attract large crowds, we expect the numbers to be quite manageable, with FanDuel Poker having launched in Ontario only recently, so the No Sweat Series should offer quite a bit of value.
Daily & Weekly MTT Schedules Shaping Up
In addition to the freeroll series, FanDuel Poker is starting to roll out its offering of daily and weekly tournaments after a prolonged testing period.
For now, the operator has rolled out its flagship daily event called Nightly Stars. The event takes place at 6:40pm ET every day, featuring a $100 buy-in and a solid $20,000 guarantee.
Other events that made their way to the early schedule include the $20 Big Starter with $3,000 guaranteed and the $30 Mini Battle Royale with a guarantee of $5,000.
We expect the MTT schedule to expand in the coming days, and it will be interesting to see what kind of weekly fixtures PokerStars on FanDuel Ontario has in store for the players. With a daily event offering $20k in prize money, it is likely that the marquee weekly tournament will come with a six-figure guarantee.
While the MTT schedule is only starting to shape up, the action on the site has been growing across cash game tables as well as in the Spin & Go department, largely thanks to the operator’s Spin & Goal promotion. Launching alongside the world’s biggest soccer tournament, it gives players a chance to win the top prize of $1,000,000 playing in boosted $5 jackpot-style tournaments.
Things may have taken a bit longer than players had hoped, but it looks like FanDuel Poker now has all its ducks in a row and is set to take an important position in the market’s regulated Ontario online poker environment.
