BetMGM PA has finally launched its poker room and it has come out of the gate with a big spread of guaranteed tournaments every day—meaning lots of overlay value rewarding the poker room’s first customers.
After weeks of speculation, the site went live on Tuesday, along with sibling Borgata Poker PA for a two-day soft launch period. It opening up to the public fully on Thursday. It ended the effective monopoly that PokerStars had enjoyed in PA online poker for nearly 18 months.
The site, which runs on partypoker’s software, is already offering a slate of Multi Table Tournaments (MTTs) every day, with a range of buy-ins to suit all bankrolls. There are Sit and Gos as well, as well as SPINS—partypoker’s version of the ever-popular Lottery SNG format.
BetMGM Pennsylvania has some juicy tournaments running throughout the week, with some hefty guarantees —and as it’s early days, there are bound to be some overlays as the operator tries to entice players to the site.

First Days Bring Lots of Value
As you would expect, most of the big tournaments take place at the weekend, with $7500 Gtd Progressive Knockouts on both Friday and Saturday nights. But the biggest day is of course Sunday, which sees a $40,000 Gtd tournament, with a $215 buy-in each week.
Aside from this, there is a 10k guaranteed event run daily at 19:00 as well as a $55 Progressive KO tournament. And to boost the action during the quieter part of the week, there’s a big buy-in Tuesday tournament with a $12k prize pool.
The great news for players is that guaranteed prize pools at such a new poker room often means that there are big overlays to be found.
The daily $10k events have so far had $3000 worth of overlay each night. And on Thursday, $712 of the guaranteed $1000 was made up by BetMGM. That’s over 70% of the prize pool.

Partypoker US Online Series Coming Soon
Of course, poker players that are new to BetMGM, will be eligible for its generous welcome package: a $25 instant bonus and up to $600 as a first deposit match. On top of this, there is a celebratory Welcome Freeroll tournament.
All players signing up to BetMGM Poker PA will be eligible for the event, which will see $40,000 worth of prizes awarded to 800 players. The tournament is also open to players who are existing Casino and Sportsbook customers.
It is worth noting that the top 50 finishers in this freeroll will receive entry to a $215 “Main Event” which means that BetMGM PA is planning to run an online series in the very near future.
There are no further details at present other than the series is currently called the Partypoker US Online Series. The tickets expire on May 23 so events will take place before then—probably a week-long series starting May 17.
