Chinese New Year Series Schedule Highlights
The Chinese New Year Series kicks off on Friday, January 13, with a handful of events, including The Plum Tree, a $200 buy-in progressive KO event with a $20k guaranteed prize pool. Several other events with buy-ins ranging from $30 to $100 will occur on the first day before the first low-stakes event kicks off on January 14, priced at just $5. Each of the festival’s ten days will include several events, with lower and higher-stakes tournaments represented every single day.
The biggest event of the Series will be played very early, as the $1000 Dragon Dance High Roller starts the action on Sunday, January 15. It is worth noting that this event will take place over two days and with a slow blind structure to allow high rollers to show off all their skills. Another $100 two-day event will also kick off on the same day, offering $50,000 in guaranteed prizes and a chance for a big payday.
The second $1000 high roller, dubbed The Lion Dance, will play out on January 19, but this one will be a single-day event, which means a smaller time commitment will be needed. The Main Event of the Series will go down on Sunday, January 22, the actual day of the Chinese New Year. The Year of the Rabbit event will feature a $200 buy-in and $65,000 in guaranteed prizes and will be played at 8-max tables like most other events.
Out of the remaining events on the Chinese New Year Series schedule, you can expect to see quite a few progressive KO tournaments, with the format gaining in popularity by the day.
