WPT Global has announced its Spring Festival, the first of the four major series the operator has in store for this year. Running May 5 — 26 and with $7,000,000 in guarantees, the Spring Festival brings a lot to be excited about, including a unique opportunity for the players to claim a WPT Championship title.
Namely, during the 2024 Spring Festival, the WPT Global real money site will host a one-of-a-kind WPT Championship online event with a $3,500 buy-in and $1,000,000 guarantee. In addition to the lion’s share of the prize pool, the eventual winner will also be declared an official World Poker Tour Champion.
While the Championship event is arguably the highlight of the series, there is plenty more to look forward to, including the $500,000 GTD Spring Festival Championship Event, the Mini Championship Event with a $150,000 promise, and generous promotions that include giving 100% of the generated rake back to the players.

WPT Global Spring Festival Highlights
Although the full schedule for the upcoming Festival is still being ironed out, we already have the most important details, all of which indicate that this will be a big series. WPT Global is promising $7,000,000 in guarantees across the board, and some $1.6 million of that will go towards marquee events.
Headlining this year’s Spring Festival is certainly the $3,500 WPT Championship event, which will give players a chance to claim a prestigious WPT title playing online. The tournament comes with a $1,000,000 guarantee, and although the buy-in is quite substantial, there will be satellites running around the clock to allow players to claim their seats at a discount.
The Festival Championship Event comes with a buy-in of $220 and a hefty guarantee of $500,000. For players with smaller bankrolls, there is also the Mini version of the Main Event, offering at least $150,000 in prizes.

All the Rake Back to the Players
In March and April, WPT Global distributed all rake generated by tournaments back to the player pool. The operator will do the same thing for its Spring Festival, as all MTT fees will go back to the community in one way or another.
Of the total amount, $150,000 will go towards funding the $100,000 Spring Festival Leaderboard and the $50,000 Champion of Champions Freeroll. All event winners will be entered into the freeroll, and the ultimate champion will claim a $12,400 WPT Passport package.
The remaining rake will be distributed to the players via three freerolls scheduled to take place on June 2 once the Spring Festival wraps up. Players can qualify for just one of the freerolls, depending on the total number of events played:
- Bronze Freeroll ($100k GTD) — 20% of total rake — 25+ MTTs to qualify or spend $500 – $2,499 in buy-ins
- Silver Freeroll ($160k GTD) — 30% of total rake — 50+ MTTs to qualify or spend $2,500 – $9,999 in buy-ins
- Gold Freeroll ($225 GTD) — 50% of total rake — 100+ MTTs to qualify or spend $10,000+ in buy-ins
Of course, all results in Spring Festival events will also count toward the WPT Global Year Race where the ultimate winner will collect $100,000 worth of prizes.
