WSOP Online Championships Extended to 200 Events WSOP Online Championships Extended to 200 Events

The WSOP Online Championships Series, which kicked off yesterday, June 2, has been extended for a full week, adding a further 28 events to the already extensive schedule.

This latest update brings the total number of tournaments to 200 and extends the series until July 21. It also further strengthens the overall guarantee, which was already over $5,000,000, making it one of the largest series in terms of the promised prize pool we’ve seen in a while.

We’ve covered the main highlights of the 2024 WSOP Online Championships in the original announcement article, including the $300,000 GTD Main Event that takes place on July 14. However, with another week jam-packed with action added onto the schedule, it is worth looking into what’s new and rehashing some of the series’ best events.

WSOP Adds Almost a Million in Guarantees

With the latest batch of tournaments added to the Online Championships Series schedule, WSOP Online has increased the overall guarantee by over $900,000, bringing the total number to around $6,000,000 in guaranteed prizes across 200 events, for an average of $30,000 per event.

Considering the fact that a majority of tournaments come at a buy-in of $100 or less, this is a rather impressive number, and players can find plenty of value here.

There are four tournaments with six-figure guarantees included in the latest addition to the series, and these are:

  • July 16 — Event #178 – $500 Special Mystery Tuesday – $100,000 GTD
  • July 20 — Event #195 – $1,000 NLH Mystery High Roller – $100,000 GTD
  • July 21 — Event #197 – $215 Closer – $150,000 GTD
  • July 22 — Event #200 — NLH OC Summer Saver – $100,000 GTD

Apart from these four, the latest batch of tournaments contains a good mix of really affordable and mid-range events, with over a dozen events featuring a buy-in of $55 and under. The only slight disappointment (to some players, at least) is that there is only one non-Hold’em event in the final week. This is Event #190, a $55 6-Max PLO tournament on July 19.

The Championships Series Just Got Even Better

WSOP Online launching its Championships Series to run alongside online bracelet and online Circuit events and with over $5,000,000 up for grabs was great news for the players. The addition of almost 30 new events and close to $1,000,000 in extra guarantees makes things even more exciting.

With online bracelet events now in full swing, the Championships Series helps provide plenty of additional action for those who don’t like to play a single table. At the same time, with many low buy-ins, it also opens opportunities for a much bigger number of players to join the action and play in big-field tournaments, even if there is no bracelet waiting for them at the end of the road.

It’s not like there wasn’t plenty of reason to join the action at the WSOP Online already, but by boosting the Championship Series guarantee and adding even more tournaments, the operator is making it harder to pass. So, sign up for your WSOP account today, get in the mix, and fight for your share of massive prizes up for grabs!
