Eurobet Poker Shutting Down Eurobet Poker Shutting Down

According to an email circulated to customers Wednesday, all gambling operations on Eurobet.com – including the Ongame skin Eurobet Poker – will close operations at the end of the month.

Parent company Gala Coral Group, a UK B&M bookmakers, also operates the Coral Poker room, but there is apparently no plan to transfer accounts from one to the other. Although the email assures that “funds will remain safe and secure in your Eurobet account at all times,” it encourages customers to “make arrangements to withdraw your funds in advance of this closure date.”

The shutdown date is set for 5pm on September 30th. According to EGR, a spokesperson confirmed that “All ante-post bets will be honored and payments will be made at the relevant times.”

The email cites “recently enacted changes in European legislation” as the reason for the closure, referring to Greece fast-tracking online gaming regulation this year, and Spain planning to to have their latest iGaming regulations in place by 2012.

Gala Coral has confirmed that its Eurobet Italia operation – an AAMS-regulated group of online gaming sites comprising bingo, casino and poker on the iPoker.it network – will continue unaffected.
